LONDON (ARSENAL-MANIA) - Arsène Wenger expects keeper Manuel Almunia to make the bench for this Sunday's Premiership opener against Newcastle United at Highbury. The Spaniard's return could proove to be a boost for Wenger, who looks to have missed out on securing the transfer of Uraguayan international Sebastien Viera. With Jens Lehmann suspended for Arsenal's two opening Champions League games, some experience will be needed between the sticks, and there was a worry over whether Almunia would be fit in time."Manuel should be on the bench on Sunday," Wenger told Arsenal TV Online on Thursday afternoon. "He is back in training now."Another Spaniard, José Antonio Reyes, will miss the match through suspension which he picked up following his late dismissal in last season's FA Cup final. On Gilberto, of whom there has been some doubt fitness-wise following his country's Confederations Cup campaign during the summer, Wenger remained optimistic, revealing "He might be available".On the long term fitness problems of Sol Campbell, Wenger is still unsure, insisting it is hard to predict when the defender will be ready to return to action."Sol is not available for Sunday," Wenger said. "I cannot set any deadline on it. It is not just down to fitness, it is match fitness as well. Sol has not played a competitive game for a long period so you have to give him time."
Da har ikkje Arsenal noko keeper igjen i første laget
