Murray: We Understand Fans Frustrations

UNITED'S assistant boss Alan Murray said he understood the fans' frustrations after seeing the team booed off the pitch following a disappoiting goalless draw with Crystal Palace.

The stalemate, United's second in four days after a similar result against Middlesbrough at Gallowgate, did not go down well with the supporters who made their feelings clear when referee Alan Wiley brought the game to a close.

"It's a game we should have won," said Murray.

"We had a great chance through Alan (Shearer) in the first few minutes but the goalkeeper made a save. If that goes in then it may have been a different story.

"We were the better side. We dominated in terms of possession and created plenty of chances, but we just lacked that little bit of quality in the last third.

"It was just one of those days when it didn't go for us. I'm not going to sit here and harp about injuries, because everyone knows about that.

"It's a tough period at the moment, but we'll get through it.

"I can't fault the effort though from the game, and we can still take plenty of positives from this difficult period.

"It is a tough time for us, but the young lads like Charles N'Zogbia, Peter Ramage, Darren Ambrose and James Milner will all have learned and developed that little bit more following the last few games."

Robbie Elliott picked up a thigh strain which forced him off at half time, and he will let the injury settle down over the next 24 hours before it is decided whether he will be fit enough for the trip to Fulham on Wednesday.

Jo det er det. Alan Shearer og Ottmar Hitzfield. Uansett så kan vel nesten alle bortsett fra treåringer gjøre det bedre en Souness.

Savner Bobby-tiden jeg. Men å ansette Alan Shearer som manager nå funker ikke. Han skal jo først få lov til å legge opp spillerkarrieren sin.

Nei, tror ikke Iain Dowie er mannen som frelser Newcastle.. Han har gjort en meget god jobb i Palace.. Var vel ikke forventet at de skulle rykke opp i fjor?

Men mye tyder også på at det blir nedrykk for Palace og da kan Dowie bli i klubben!!
