NEWCASTLE United caretaker boss Chris Hughton has hinted that England youth international Ryan Donaldson could be about to get his big chance.
The Geordie teenager, who has captained the reserve side so far this season, had been converted into an attacking midfielder during pre-season after being fielded in the engine room last term ? and Hughton knows he must learn to rotate his small squad.
However, with United thin on the ground when it comes to strikers, Hughton may turn to Donaldson at some stage in his original position in attack.
Hughton told the Chronicle: ?Ryan certainly has the grounding to play up front.
?At this moment, I see him very much as an attacking midfield player.
?He has been very good in the first-team group in that position.
?Because of his grounding, though, never say never ? and if there was a possibility to play up him front that option is there.?
Hughton added: ?I am quite sure the time will soon come for the likes of Nile Ranger, Kazenga, Tamas Kadar and probably Ryan Donaldson.
