Herlig med spekulasjoner, er det ikke?

Roughly five-six weeks ago ourselves along with Barcelona and another unnamed Spanish club made an approach to French club Lyon regarding the transfer of Karim Benzema. All three clubs were quoted a fee.
It is thought that initially all three clubs laughed off a bid after Lyon's initial scare tactics of naming a ridiculous price seemed to work. However roughly a month ago ourselves and Barcelona returned and made "test the water bids" involving lots of add-ons for appearances, etc.
Now, Barcelona withdrew their offer sometime after for some unknown reason leaving ourselves the only club in the running. Supposedly a similar fee to what we offered, with more hard cash than add ons could tempt Lyon to sell up, but the problem will be convincing the player himself to sign up as he is not quite as keen about the move and would rather hold out for a move to a much bigger club.
Now I, like the readers of this thread , am very skeptical about this, but I suppose the one straw I have to clutch to is all this talk of a "wow" signing, but I guess without hard evidence this is just another rumor. Ah well, make of it what you will.
