Like greit å lage en egen skadetråd, siden det stort sett er nye skader hver eneste dag.Her har man dagens gjeeeesp.

Steven Taylor's hopes of making a prompt return to Premiership action this weekend have been dashed after the England Under-21 international aggravated his injured shoulder during a routine training session.

That will leave Graeme Souness with no option other than to stick with Jean-Alain Boumsong and Titus Bramble - both of whom have demonstrated indifferent form at various stages of this season - as he attempts to lead Newcastle to victory over Arsenal tomorrow for the first time in 10 attempts.

Although medical experts predicted Taylor (pictured) would be sidelined until the middle of January having dislocated his shoulder while on international duty last month, Souness was confident the teenager would be back in action before Christmas.

At the start of this week, the United boss told The Journal that, having made good progress in his rehabilitation, Taylor could be in contention to face Arsenal at St James's Park. That the 19-year-old has since suffered a setback will have come as a major blow.

Taylor's precise condition is not yet known. But Newcastle's best-performing defender will not be named in Souness' first-team squad this morning - a considerable disappointment for a manager who will definitely be without the services of Kieron Dyer and who is expected to be without Michael Owen for the fourth-successive game.

Owen is unlikely to be involved despite targeting the game for his return earlier in the week, and he will be joined on the sidelines by hamstring victim Emre, Stephen Carr as he continues his recovery from hernia surgery, Kieron Dyer, whose hamstring problems persist, Charles N'Zogbia, who has a broken wrist, and the suspended Celestine Babayaro.
