Although I may have spoken to a number of you already, I just wanted to introduce myself to those who I haven’t reached as the founder or secretary for your respective NUFC supporters club.
My name is Lee Marshall and I’ve taken up the position of PR and supporter liaison manager at Newcastle United.
At the moment, I’m very keen to look at introducing an accreditation system for ‘Official Supporters Clubs’ and would welcome your ideas on what you would like to see as part of that proposed scheme.
The initial proposal would be to formalise the club’s relationship by creating regular dialogue and channels of communication with nominated Supporter Club contacts, as well as providing exclusive benefits to those groups participating in the scheme. These benefits, whether it’s merchandise, the ‘official’ title with certification, representation an end of season ‘Player of the Year award’ and/or others, are all open to debate.
While online forums and website may not be entirely relevant in some cases, I would still welcome your input.
