Coloccini has already signed, The medical was the final stage to the transfer process, and this took place on Wednesday. This is confirmed by the official deportivo site. NUFC are just not announcing it for some strange reason.
Here is some more information about Coloccini gained form the Depor official site:
- He has signed a 5yr contract at around 40k a week.
- Deportivo claim that it was Newcastle United who held up the transfer as they waited on our signature.
- He continued to train with Depor even though he wasn’t required to, “To maintain the pace”, is his own words (to remain fit for when he joined us as he was probably told he will go straight in to the first team)
- He joined us for 11.5 million euros (£9,015,812) plus incentives. This includes our participation in a future Teresa Herrera tournament.
- We paid 15% of the transfer that corresponded to the player (Fabricio)
- He can play in DM but prefers to play at CB as he is more comfortable there.
- There are no hard feelings between Fabricio and Depor, and they give a glowing review of him, describing him as a hard worker and a true leader of defence.
- Fabricio gave an emotional press conference on Thursday just before he left Depor as he felt the fans deserved it. This was well recieved by the press and all the journalists applauded him as he left the conference room.
- He is expected to play in our match against Valencia.
Skulle ikke forundre meg om vi bare får se 10 spillere i startoppstillinga før kampen i kveld, så kommer Colo ut sammen med resten av laget !
