Souness prøver seg på Bridge i januar?

Newcastle United have been tipped to make a bid for Chelsea's out-of-favour defender Wayne Bridge once the transfer window opens in the new year.

It is reported that manager Graeme Souness has identified Bridge for the left-back berth and with him not having started a Premiership game this season, Souness believes there is a possibility that a deal could be struck.

Former Chelsea left-back Celestine Babayaro has failed to make a positive impact at St James' Park which is why the manager is considering his options.

Putting out his interest recently, Souness said: "Bridge is a quality player."
